About Dana
Life is beautiful, and so often hard.
I've lived through experiences that rearranged who I thought I was.
What I write about now is what came next: learning who I am versus who I’ve been for too long, noticing when I pull myself back from good things, and finding out who shows up when I stop settling.
My work explores life change, grief, identity, purpose and the work of rebuilding a life when familiar structures no longer have answers. I draw on research where it helps, but I'm more interested in the human story underneath: the questions, contradictions and quiet moments that make something matter to the person living it.
I'm not a clinician or an expert, and I won't pretend to be. I write from lived experience, with curiosity, compassion and respect. I write about what is real, not what is comfortable.
I write about what happens after it starts to work.
Not the crisis, not the tidy ending. The part in between, when life begins to change and you find out how unfamiliar good things can feel.
I've been a writer my entire life. It's how I think, how I sort through things, and how I speak what I can't yet say out loud.
Words are tools that let our hearts speak.
If you're somewhere between who you've been, and who you are becoming, you're welcome here.
